Privacy, in plain English
For the Stepwise early access list. Last updated November 2026.
Short version: we keep your email and anything you choose to tell us so we can let you know when Stepwise is ready and figure out what to build. We don't sell it. Ask and we'll delete it.
What we collect
- Your email. That's the only thing you have to give us.
- Optional answers from the thank-you screen: your money question, salary range, how long you've been working, and whether you'd rather use this in ChatGPT or Claude or are up for a call.
- Where you came from: which version of the page you saw and the campaign tags on the link you clicked (like which ad).
- Basic tech info: your browser's user agent and a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop spam signups. We don't store your actual IP.
- Page analytics: anonymous counts of visits and button clicks through Vercel Web Analytics. No cookies, no ad trackers.
Why
- To confirm your signup, and to email you about Stepwise: when there's something to try, product news and money tips. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To learn which money questions people actually have, so we build the right thing.
- If you said you're up for a call, to reach out about one.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your info. Ever.
- We don't share it with advertisers.
- We don't ask for bank logins, account numbers, or your Social Security number on this list.
Who else touches it
Only the services that run the site: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Neon (the database) and Resend (sending email). They store it for us and can't use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Until Stepwise launches or we decide not to build it. If we stop, we delete the list.
Delete or change your info
Email hello@stepwise.money from the address you signed up with and say "delete me." We'll do it within 30 days, usually much faster.
Not financial advice
Stepwise isn't a financial advisor, and nothing on this site is financial advice.
